Written in 1947, this work was dedicated to his children Alejandro and Georgina and premiered by Lía Cimaglia-Espinosa in the Odeón Theater of Buenos Aires, on May 3, 1949.
It is the last piano composition that may be assigned to the stage of so-called objective nationalism. Ginastera attempts to underline the harmony of each melody and uses Debussyan features. |
