This march was written by Captain Torcuato Napoleoni (Italy 1883-Argentina 1957), author of several other compositions-among them Árbol Solo, included in our TR020103.

The Infantry School began in 1925, in Campo de Mayo under the 4th. Line Infantry Regiment, created in 1810 on the basis of the Battalion of Mountaineers. In 1939, this regiment was renamed 4th. Mechanized School Infantry Regiment, and designed thereafter, to serve as model for the study and experimentation of innovations in the Army's infantry. It is currently garrisoned in Monte Caseros, Province of Corrientes.

The operation of the School was satisfactory since its inception, with theoretical and practical courses being offered for chiefs, officers and non-commissioned officers of the arm, to become with time the "Home of Infantry". In 1955 the School moved to the Province of Córdoba and in 1960, its name was changed to Infantry Training Center. In 1964, it regained its former name and in 1966, it returned to Campo de Mayo adding training courses for parachutists and commandos. In 2003, the various schools were merged into the Arms School, while the Regiment has served as the basis for the organization of DAC, the “Duke of Caxias” Combined Arms Detachment, named for the Brazilian general who replaced Argentine President and General Bartolomé Mitre at the head of the alliance in the final actions of the Paraguay War. A subunit for each of the other arms of the army (cavalry, artillery, communications and engineers) was then added to the regiment.
