This march was composed in 1996 by Major and Band Conductor José Giordano (Argentina-1921), in honor of the Bands Inspectorate in the centennial of its creation, on October 28, 1895.
There were music bands in the Argentine Army ever since it was established in May 1810, as a heritage of the Spanish military organization in the Viceroyship of the Provinces of the Plata River.
At the end of the Nineteenth Century, when laying the basis for the organization of a modern army, the Bands Inspectorate was created, among other purposes, to uniform and order the musical activities of the army. Some of its major functions are to provide coordination for the recruitment, training and evaluation of the staff of musicians and conductors, inspection and support in technical musical issues and stewardship of the Army's musical heritage.
