22. Battle of the River Raisin, 1813. US forces led by Brig. Gen. James Winchester were defeated by British forces under the command of the then Col. Henry Proctor and Indians of chief Tecumseh, resulting in the surrender of 550 men, being US wounded prisioners butchered by the indians. Proctor was known thereafter as "the butcher".

These formed the core of Argentine naval power between their incorporation and 1951, when they were withdrawn from the Sea Fleet. With a displacement of 32,000 tons, it was 180 meters long and its main artillery was equipped with 12-305 mm cannons. ARA Moreno took part in the celebrations marking the opening of the Panama Canal, in its inaugural trip to Buenos Aires, in 1915. Tradition has published in TR020102 the march Acorazado Moreno, composed in 1946 by Maestro Salvador Baggieri as a tribute to this capital ship, where he served in 1940.

26. Born in Buenos Aires, Saturnino Rodríguez Peña, 1765. He was the Attorney of the Royal Audiencia of Charcas. As a prominent member of the "criollo" party and firm supporter of the freedom of these lands from Spain, he played an important role at the time of the British Invasions. In private conversations with General William Carr Beresford, who had taken over Buenos Aires, he made inquiries on whether the British Government would foster the independence of the Plata river from the Spanish crown. After the British were defeated by the forces of the viceroyship and always guided by his ideas of liberty, he helped Beresford flee to Montevideo. For that reason, he was forced to escape from Buenos Aires himself. He traveled to England to ask for the help required to obtain freedom from Spain by peaceful means. Having failed in this endeavor, he settled in Río de Janeiro until May 1810. For his support of General Carlos de Alvear he suffered another exile, until he was pardoned in 1815, at his mother's request. He died in Buenos Aires on April 4, 1819.

(to 01-02-1702). 600 Irishmen of the Brigade Irlandaise and from the infantry regiments of colonels Bourke and Dillon, commanded by Major Daniel O'Mahoney, save the city of Cremona for France, defeating much major Austrian forces under Prince Eugene of Savoy. The Brigade for almost a century, would fight on behalf of its adopted nation and its kings with a determined loyalty and so bravely as it had in this battle.
31. Charles Edward Stuart ("Bonnie Prince Charlie"), leader of the Jacobite Rebellion to depose George II of England, dies in Rome, 1788.
